#BML16: Finding your voice writing workshop

Amanda Jennings at BritMums Live 2016A writer?s voice is uniquely their own. Whether you?re writing a novel, short stories, a blog post or flash fiction, you want to find your distinctive voice, that quality to your writing that sets it apart from the crowd. In this workshop we will cover the following:

  • What do we mean we we say ?voice??
  • What, if any, is the difference between style and voice?
  • How can you develop your own distinctive voice?

Using these questions as a rough outline, we will examine some of the more famous voices in literature and work through two practical writing exercises designed to help you refine your voice. At the end of the session there will be time for questions relating to voice in both your own writing or writing in general. This will be a relaxed and informal session that we hope will prove useful in developing your writing. Amanda Jennings, novelist and mentor
