While we wait to hear more on his postponed Alien movie, it looks like Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Chappie) is in talks with Fox to write and direct a new sci-fi movie called The Gone World.
It will be an adaptation of the new sci-fi novel by Thomas Sweterlitsch who wrote Tomorrow and Tomorrow. However, The Gone World has not been published yet.
At the moment all we know about the story is that it is a time travel procedural. Hopefully there will be more story details soon.
I quite like the fact that Blomkamp may be doing an adaptation of someone elses work. All of his films look fantastic, but I feel the story elements have dropped in quality since District 9. Hopefully, this will be a good combination.
