Last weekend we had our first proper spring day here in Essex. It was so warm that I spent the afternoon in the garden with a glass (or two of vino) and it made me so excited for summer. I was sitting there planning my garden planting for this year while the warm sun warmed my toes. It feels like forever since I?d felt the sun as warm as that. While I was enjoying the outdoors I wrote some poetry about meeting our new Granddaughter for the first time, who was born last month. Of course it was love at first sight and I couldn?t help but write a sonnet.
Talking of baby girls Hannah from ?Mummy and the Beastie? tells us about her thoughts of bringing up a daughter after having two boys. An experience very similar to mine as I also had two boys followed by the girls. I found it to be a completely different experience. Hannah tells us ?You really never know what the future holds for you but all you can do is to strive for the best and go with your gut instincts. Life has a funny way of working out sometimes.? I love this message, so positive.
Polly from ?A Right Royal Mother? shared a funny info-graphic last month about Kate Middleton and how being a princess is not all its cracked up to be. It did make me chuckle and make me realize how lucky I am to be a regular Mum.
I love hearing about the strong women who walked before us. I come from a long line of gutsy women who inspire me every day of my life. Nina Aikas has written a wonderful tribute to her late Grandmother, who reached the grand old age of 102, how incredible! Nina shares her Grandmothers very happy life with us along with some beautiful photos. What a lady!
The warmer weather has most definitely inspired me to want to get out and about more and put some plans into action. Kim from ?Call Me Kim? wrote a lovely post about trying to make every day count but at the same time taking some time to relax. Kim is a chronic planner and I must admit I?m one myself. I totally relate to this ?I have chronic planning-itus and there is always a list of events or festivals to get tickets for, as well as six or seven holiday brochures on the coffee table in the living room.?
I love this post from Vicki aka ?Honest Mum? talks about having a more controlled reaction when things in life sometimes don?t go as planned, or we get knocked sideways by an event out of our control. Vicki tells us ?Bad shizzle inevitably happens in life, that?s life and we can react badly/angrily as it arises or we can work/ practice on CHOOSING our reaction, opting to be rational, calm and accepting.? Great advice.
Nadine from ?JuggleMum? wrote a fabulous post sharing her tips for taking steps to real self confidence. I have had many times in the past where my confidence has held me back or stopped me from doing something I really want to do. I would love to feel more self assured. Nadine offers some great advice on building self confidence and I?ll be following it that?s for sure.
As it was ?International Womens Day? last month Lucy from ?Lulastic And The Hippyshake? put together an awesome linky of over 30 inspirational blog posts. A feel good read.
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this months round-up, Michelle will be back next month with more inspirational blog posts and I?ll see you again in June.
Lots of Love,
