A group of Conservative councillors in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham are conducting just one surgery each PER YEAR, it has emerged. It gets worse. Lazy representatives ? who each take home between £9,964 and £27,838 per year courtesy of the taxpayer ? would force some residents to walk nearly a mile and half to see them ? because they can?t even be bothered to hold the surgery in their own ward.
And the out-of-touch excuse offered by the Tory group last night for only holding the surgeries at Fulham Library?
?They [local residents] have cars?
With the Conservative Party losing control of the borough last year, 21,000 residents that live in Palace Riverside, Town and Munster wards are represented by eight Conservative Councillors delivering a derisory one surgery per month between them. Residents without access to a car on the west of Palace Riverside walk must either use public transport or face a 1.3 mile walk to Fulham Library.
The notice below reveals that four of the councillors ? nearly a quarter of the Tories? group on the borough ? appear to be conducting a single published surgery in the entirety of 2014/15.
From 2006 to 2014 the borough was heralded as a flagship Tory council.
